Brought up on the outskirts of New York City, Tod Michael Volpe rose from obscurity to become tastemaker to celebrities, VIP's, collectors and supporters of the arts. Nicknamed 'The Oracle' for two decades by Vogue Magazine for his discerning eye, Volpe became confident to such notables as Malcolm Forbes, Diane Von Furstenberg, Jack Nicholson, Barbra Streisand, Bruce Willis, Matrix producer Joel Silver, Andy Warhol, Robert Mapplethorpe, Paul Stanley of KISS and many more.

While advising former New York governor Mario Cuomo he was invited to the White House in recognition of his contribution to the arts. Treasures of the American Arts and Crafts Movement by Thames and Hudson is his pioneering work on the style he made famous.

Volpe currently resides in New York where he is working on his third book, 'Unframed', a guide for the insatiable collector and a fictional novel 'The Sandman', a stepping stone between life and death.
